Let Your Voice Be Heard: Using Social Media to Encourage Social Action

In an effort to help composition students understand that their reading, writing, and course materials have impacts beyond the classroom, the webinar facilitator seeks new ways to integrate multidisciplinary materials that promote social activism. This webinar features a social media campaign assignment and provides examples from a course entitled “Technology, Change, and You!” Participants learn about the importance of social activism in first-year composition classrooms and beyond, how to encourage social activism in the classroom, and the tools to facilitate social and community engagement.
