5. See What Texas Has to Offer!
Austin, Texas has been the home of NISOD’s Annual Conference for over forty years. Our headquarter hotel, the JW Marriott, is located at the heart of downtown Austin. Enjoy easy access to the diverse food, entertainment, and nightlife Austin has to offer after conference hours. Interested in exploring more of the Lone Star State? Join the San Antonio Riverwalk Excursion on Saturday evening! This self-guided excursion provides transportation to the San Antonio River Walk, which is a network of walkways along the banks of the San Antonio River. One story beneath and approximately five miles along the streets of downtown San Antonio, it is lined by numerous bars, shops, and restaurants. The Riverwalk is an important part of the city’s urban fabric and a tourist attraction in its own right.

“The ability to gain further knowledge and to know that community college families are all “on different ends of the same boat” was impactful. Most institutions face similar issues and it was refreshing to gain best practices that everyone can use to help enhance the overall educational opportunities they provide to their communities.”
