Cochise College is a NISOD Member because the college values the abundant and flexible professional development and online learning resources that NISOD offers to its members. The member benefits are invaluable for the growth of our institution and its faculty, staff, and students.

Which NISOD benefits does Cochise College use the most and how?
Cochise College annually uses NISOD’s International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence, as well as the Excellence Awards, to recognize faculty and staff for their exemplary work and willingness to go above and beyond. The conference is also a wonderful opportunity to interact with colleagues from across the country and share innovation and ideas. The weekly newsletter NISODirect includes a wealth of information, such as Innovation Abstracts articles that offer best practices and  inspiration to improve teaching and learning. NISOD’s webinars are high-quality presentations that educate on a variety of topics. Our faculty and Faculty Support Center find them especially helpful and insightful.

Cochise College Offers Special Tuition and Fee Rates for Summer 2020
In an effort to support struggling students during the COVID-19 pandemic, Cochise College has reduced its tuition and fee rates for the summer term. Cochise also offers free applications and virtual advising via phone, email, and video chat.

Cochise Named in Top Ten Community Colleges of 2020
College Consensus, a unique college ratings website that aggregates publisher rankings and student reviews, named Cochise in their ranking of the Best Community Colleges 2020. Rankings were based on cost, reputation, and success. Cochise was ranked the seventh best community college in the nation.

Pilot Shortage Boosts Cochise College Program
Cochise College has used clear Arizona weather, reasonable tuition, and modern technology to build a strong pilot training program that’s been training pilots for 50 years, and will continue to do so as the need for pilots rises. Boeing has estimated a worldwide need for about 743,000 new airline and corporate pilots over the next 20 years.
