“One-College”: Aligning Non-Credit and Credit Programs
Do you want your students to have the full menu of options available to them, regardless of whether they seek a GED, microcredential, associate degree, or transfer degree? Is your college thinking about, or already in the process of, bringing non-credit and credit offerings into alignment to improve the student experience? The need for more clear pathways to job skills is required more than ever as workers displaced by the pandemic seek training, skills, and credentials to help them get back to work. In addition, there’s an increasing need to provide learners, particularly working learners, with skill paths to learning and employment, while slashing time, cost, and uncertainty. Consequently, non-credit programs are more and more being encouraged to partner with for-credit programs to establish a “one college” concept that offers expanded, but unified, options to students that address their career and education needs.
Being held in conjunction with NISOD’s annual International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence, “One-College”: Aligning Non-Credit and Credit Programs will bring together colleges experienced at aligning non-credit and credit programs with colleges that are just starting down that road. Experienced colleges will share their lessons learned, and colleges new to the movement will be able to learn from their knowledgeable colleagues.
