When did Central Carolina Technical College become a NISOD Member?
CCTC rejoined NISOD in 2019 after several years of absence. 

Why is Central Carolina Technical College a NISOD Member?
CCTC became a NISOD member to gain access to a wealth of professional development materials, especially those surrounding topics such as universal design and improving career and technical education (CTE) student achievement.

Which NISOD benefits does Central Carolina Technical College use the most and how?
We plan to take advantage of all NISOD resources , including webinars, publications, workshops, and conferences to supplement our internal professional development program, particularly for faculty. We plan to nominate staff and faculty for the NISOD Excellence Awards as an additional method of identifying and celebrating the amazing work done to provide outstanding instruction and support for students.

CCTC Creates 3D Masks for McLeod Health
Central Carolina’s Engineering Design Technology Department Chairman David Tuders is taking his skills and technology to the fight against coronavirus. Tuders is using 3D printers owned by the college to produce medical masks for health care workers.

Central Carolina Technical College Receives HVACR Accreditation
Central Carolina Technical College in Sumter has been granted accreditation of its Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) program by HVAC Excellence.

CCTC Holds Youth Apprenticeship Signing Day
South Carolina’s high school students have the unique opportunity to participate in a Youth Apprenticeship program through Central Carolina Technical College and local businesses. The Youth Apprenticeship program combines high school curriculum and career and technology training with critical, on-the-job training performed at a local business. 

CCTC’s Honor’s Society Celebrates 83 New Members
Central Carolina Technical College inducted 83 new members into their Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. According to its international guidelines, the organization provides opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate to exchange ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence. Membership in the CCTC chapter of Phi Theta Kappa is limited to associate degree and certificate students who have attained a GPA of 3.25 after completing 12 or more credit hours.

Every month, NISOD turns the spotlight on the effective ways member colleges use NISOD benefits. These member colleges exemplify NISOD’s mission of improving teaching, learning, and leadership, with the ultimate goal being to increase student success.
