NISOD Joins CCCSE to Launch a Bold New Era of Support for Community and Technical Colleges
Austin, Texas – May 29, 2025 – The National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) is proud to announce that it is now part of the Center for Community College Student Engagement (CCCSE), marking a major step forward in expanding and reimagining support for community and technical colleges across the nation.
“This merger isn’t just about structure—it’s about legacy and impact,” said Linda García, executive director of CCCSE. “Both CCCSE and NISOD grew from the same visionary roots, and now, by coming together, we’re honoring that history while opening the door to an exciting future.”
NISOD and CCCSE share a common origin in the Community College Leadership Program at The University of Texas at Austin, led by Dr. John Roueche and the late Dr. Suanne Davis Roueche, NISOD’s first executive director. With this reunion, the two organizations aim to amplify their shared mission: supporting community college student success. “We’re thrilled about this new chapter as NISOD joins forces with CCCSE,” said Kris Tolman, interim associate director of NISOD. “This partnership represents an exciting opportunity to amplify our impact and reimagine how we support community and technical colleges. While we look forward to what’s ahead, our commitment to our members remains steadfast—there will be no interruption to the benefits and services they rely on. Together, we’re building a stronger future for teaching, learning, and student success.”
As part of this new chapter, NISOD is engaging its members and key stakeholders to help inform and guide the re-imagination of its programs and services. By actively seeking input from the community we serve, we’re ensuring that the future of NISOD remains deeply connected to the needs of community and technical colleges across the country and beyond.
