Which NISOD benefits does the Blinn College District use the most and how?
Blinn’s faculty participate in professional development opportunities throughout the year and NISOD’s variety of publications and webinars provide learning opportunities for Blinn faculty. Each year, Blinn recognizes four outstanding faculty members and two staff members with NISOD Excellence Awards. Blinn faculty also participate in NISOD’s annual conference.

Interesting News Happening at Blinn College

RELLIS Campus: Walter C. Schwartz Building and Texas A&M Collaboration
In August 2018, the Blinn College District celebrated the grand opening of the Walter C. Schwartz Building at the RELLIS Campus. At RELLIS, Blinn has partnered with The Texas A&M University System to develop a unique academic collaboration that provides a seamless pathway for students to earn their associate and bachelor’s degrees. This new concept has immediately attracted interest from students when 1,515 enrolled at Blinn at the RELLIS Campus during the inaugural fall semester. In addition to Blinn’s associate degree programs, eight bachelor’s degree programs were offered by Texas A&M System regional universities at the RELLIS Campus in fall 2018, and four more will be introduced in fall 2019.

Brenham Campus: Mill Creek Hall and Record Enrollment
In August 2018, the Blinn College District celebrated the grand opening of Mill Creek Hall, a 464-bed student housing facility on the Brenham Campus. The facility features two high-tech engineering classrooms and was funded through a public-private partnership. Thanks to the introduction of the new residence hall, Blinn-Brenham enrollment increased 16.8 percent and contributed to record districtwide enrollment of 19,581 students.

Brenham Campus: New Science, Technology, and Innovation Building
In January 2019, Blinn College District trustees authorized the College to proceed with the issuance and sale of revenue bonds to fund the development of a new science, technology, and innovation building on the Brenham Campus. This building will provide expanded laboratory space for Blinn’s science, engineering, and health science programs.
