Examining the Efficacy of Electronic Student Messaging Systems

This session explores extant literature regarding the efficacy of electronic communication systems and programs in influencing student actions. Large institutional investments have been made in human resources, hardware, and software based on the promise of greater engagement. Participants learn about the documented results experienced by early adopters.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Develop baseline questions that should be considered before entering into a long-term contract for additional communication software.
  2. Review the usage of current communication devices and how they might be leveraged to enhance communication.
  3. Develop a greater understanding of outcomes measurement as part of the planning process.
