Roundtable Discussions Description

Roundtable Discussions provide a more personal and interactive setting for exploring key issues. Discussion leaders facilitate substantive discussions or small group activities. These discussions accommodate up to ten participants, are limited to two discussion leaders, and cannot accommodate any technology beyond a battery-powered laptop computer. Numerous Roundtable Discussions take place simultaneously in the same area.

Language Learning in an iPad-Enhanced Flipped Classroom

Learn about a hybrid course where students use iPads to apply learned concepts. Following a brief opening discussion, participants are issued iPads and take part in exercises similar to what Elementary Spanish students experience in a flipped classroom.

Beyond Us and Them: Engaging the Perspectives of Immigrant Students

Participants examine the status of community college immigrant students and consider strategies to ensure the voices of immigrant students are heard and respected. Participants are challenged to consider how to bring this vision to fruition.
