Are staff members who are also students at the college allowed to enter the contest?
Any student is allowed to enter, even if he or she is employed by the college.

Does the awarded student scholarship have to be applied to the community college the student is currently enrolled in, or can it be carried over after the student transfers to another community college or four-year institution?
This scholarship can be applied to the institution of your choice.

Can the NISOD Essay Contest flyer be published in a school newspaper or publication?
Yes.

How do I know if my school meets the guidelines to be considered a “community college” or “community college district” as required?

What date must a faculty/staff/administrator be employed through in order to be featured in an essay?
Eligible employees are those that are still employed by the institution through the essay deadline: November 6, 2009.

I want to write an essay about a faculty member at my community college. However, I will be transferring to a different college in January. Am I eligible?
Yes, as long as you are enrolled at a community college when you submit your essay.
