NISOD Excellence Awards FAQs

How was I selected for this award?
Each college has their own selection criteria. Please contact Sheryl Powell to find out who the Excellence Awards contact is at your college.

My college has told me I am a recipient, but I have not received any notification from NISOD, what should I do?
Please contact Sheryl Powell to be sure NISOD has received your college's submission form.

If I am unable to attend the conference, how will I receive my award?
If you are unable to attend the conference, your medallion and Excellence Awards booklet will be mailed to you in late June.

Do I have to submit a photo, statement, and DVD?
No. This is not mandatory.

Can my friends and family attend the Excellence Awards Kick-Off on Sunday?
No. Because of limited space, the meeting is for recipients only.

Can my friends and family attend the Excellence Awards Ceremony on Wednesday?
Yes.

If I am planning on attending the conference, do I have to register?
Yes. Anyone attending the conference is required to register and pay the conference registration fee.

Am I required to register for the conference if I am only attending the Excellence Awards Ceremony on Wednesday?
No. However, you must check in at registration on Wednesday morning so that we can give you your medallion prior to the ceremony.

My college missed the deadline to submit Excellence Awards. Can we still submit names to receive the award?
Please contact Sheryl Powell to find out if we are still able to accept submissions.
